Testimonials

Truly exceptional.  Beyond expectations.

Only drawback – Saturday: Punched it.  Cincinnati Dayton going South.  Somehow missed the sheriff SUV who got right up in my ass 1 or 2 feet at best.  Thankfully he rolled off.  Clean living I guess.

Sunday – Lunch run.  Monroe cop lit me up.  Thankfully he pulled around and went on.

Please provide “Get out of jail free” cards.

Otherwise, can’t thank ya’s enough.

I want to let you know you hit a home run with repositioning the engine, matching up the engine/clutch/gearbox, reworking the steering shaft/gearbox, orienting the shifter and engineering everything else that impacts the way the truck handles, rides and drives.  The engine is also running far smoother and better than it ever has.  I took the scenic route home on Friday, so for about 60 minutes I was continually amazed at how much more enjoyable and easier it was to drive the truck.  I know it was a long, drawn out process for you, but the end result could not have been better.  I’m thrilled with the work that you and your team did.

Steve & all mechanics at Benhase, thanks a million for getting my 65 Chevelle running top notch. It rolls straight & true and delivers awesome horsepower!

A very special Corvair

The crew at Benhase carried out a partial restoration on my very special 1969 Corvair. This vehicle was owned by the designer of the Corvair, Ned Nickles. It’s a very showy car, with a lot of interesting and special trim, detail, and design features. My father purchased this car from Mr. Nickles in 1970, and I now carry on the tradition. Most of the work was mechanical, as the suspension and some of engine sub-systems were in poor shape. It now drives and handles very well. Ed and his paint shop crew did a great job on chips and scratches that had accumulated over the years. If I were looking to conduct a full re-paint, this is the place that I would go to have it done. Overall, these guys really understand and appreciate cars like this. I think that as a customer, it is important to understand up-front that the work-flow for a project like this can take some “off-ramps”, as there is little that is straightforward in the restoration of a 50 year old vehicle. So, the initial estimate is going to be very approximate. The crew is communicative and responsive, and I found it easy to stay in touch, map out progress, and how this was going to converge on a certain cost for services. I’ve not had a partial restoration done prior, so I don’t have a basis for comparison. Understand, too, that a restoration house like this has a lot of specialized tools and experience to get things done that would have taken me forever to do, and perhaps impossible to do well. I feel like I got great value, and obtained a better understanding of my car. Also, the folks here got the car done in good time so that I can show it at a well-known car & motorcycle show, the Concours d’ Elegance, Cincinnati.

I recently had Benhase work on my ’86 Monte Carlo SS. Steven and the whole crew were very friendly and professional. They looked it over thoroughly and went over my options with me. It mainly needed a new engine. They put in a 383 ‘stroker’. They worked with my wife to get it back to me in time for Christmas as a surprise; I didn’t think it would be done anywhere near that soon.
I got it back a few days before Christmas. It ran great… until Christmas Eve, when the water pump failed. Our local tow truck man is also the mechanic I use the most; he came to tow the car, looked at the engine, and said immediately it looked like a parts failure, that there was no problem with the installation.
Benhase was on it. We live about 3 hours away from them, but the day after Christmas they had a tow service (the name of which I can’t remember; I think it was ‘Diamond’; they were also very friendly and professional) pick it up and take it back to them. They fixed it as quickly as they could (they had to wait on a fan housing, I think) and I was able to pick it up in about 9 days.
And it runs great! I recommend Benhase highly.

Outstanding professional service. They handled the repair of my 1957 Chevy which had considerable problems. Steve and Ed provided the excellent service and Jenny always kept me updated on the status of the project.

I was very happy with the quality of work done by Benhase Restorations in working on my Studebaker. I enjoyed working with Steve and Jim. They were very knowledgeable, and creative in getting my vintage air conditioning, supercharger, and power steering to all fit under the hood, and look really good. I would certainly recommend them to others.

Did a restoration on my 1980 TR7 that I have owned since new. Work was done as promised for the price agreed too and on time. They converted my garage queen into a beautiful daily driver again. They are easy to work with and they know British cars.

Excellent service! Had my car in and out in great time, on schedule and very much in our agreed upon price range. Very knowledgeable and capable staff repairs and restores vehicles to a very high standard. Our family has taken many cars to Benhase, from our 1968 Nova to our 1953 MG TD with no problems, they could handle them both. Recently had damage on a 2015 Subaru and they were able to make it look like new. Great group of guys.
